why is 12 inches space required above Yescom Window Awning?

When installing the Yescom Window Awning, we recommend you leave at least 12'' of space above the window awning and at least 4'' of space above your door frame. Some of our customers have very limited space to install the window awning, and so, when they open their window or door, it may hit the window awning. Likewise, for two story houses, if you want to install the window awning between the first and second story windows, you may need some space to hang things out the second story window, without hitting the awning.
As long as you make sure your space is large enough to install the window awning and are sure nothing will hit it, you can left the space less than 12''.

How to protect Poly Awning Canopy in winter?

Please be careful that snow would accumulate not only on the ground but also roof in winter. At the same time, the poly awning canopy is also bearing extra weight from the accumulation of snow. And it would easily destroy poly awning canopy which could probably fell down later. Bringing safety harzards which could have been avoided. So we suggest clean snow on the poly awning canopy everytime after snowing.

What is the drop from bottom edge of bracket to bottom edge of canopy?

The drop approximately is 9cm (3.54''). That is why we recommend leaving at least 10cm (4'') of space above the door frame.

Can I install the awning on aluminum siding?

Sure it can be installed on aluminum siding. Please predrill holes for brackets before installing. It would be better to use a cobalt drill bit to drill holes on aluminum siding cause melting point of aluminum is lower.
