Is the Yescom Above Ground Swimming Pool Pump 1.5 HP Self Priming?

The Yescom Above Ground Swimming Pool Pump 1.5 HP is not self priming.

Sand Filter: Is the Yescom Above Ground Swimming Pool Pump 1.5 HP compatible with an Intex Sand Filter?

Our Yescom Above Ground Swimming Pool Pump 1.5 HP is compatible with an Intex sand filter. Please ensure the your filter has proper fittings, if not an adapter will be required.

The Yescom Above Ground Swimming Pool Pump 1.5 HP turns on but is not pumping.

Proceed to try the following steps:
Check the suction to ensure there is no blockage.
Clean the strainer from debris. You may clean with a water hose.
Check the hose connections to ensure nothing is loose.
Remember to keep the pump at an angle while submerged. Switch the pump on and off several times in order to expel air.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact our customer service team and provide us a short summary of the issue along with your order number.

Sand Filter: Is a sand filter required for the Yescom Above Ground Swimming Pool Pump 1.5 HP?

The maximum diameter of particles that can pass the pool pump is only 35mm. If any larger particles, it may prevent the pump from working properly and cause damages to the motor. It is highly recommended to use a sand filter.
Our Yescom 16" Sand Filter is sold separately.

Pool Pump: Can the pump be used in winter & 6 tips to avoid damage

Normally, it does not have a requirement of season. The applicable water temperature range is 1??C to 35 ??C. Please be advised that water can't be freezing.
Here're 6 Tips to Avoid Winter Damage to Your Above Ground Pool
1. Keep Excess Water Off Your Winter Cover.
2. It's better to arrange a cover on top of your pool. Secure the pool cover along the edges of the cover onto the pool so no debris, snow, rain, or ice gets into the pool water.
3. Remember to remove snow and ice from your pool regularly. Always shovel away any snow that's collected on the cover after the winter storm. Be careful not to scratch the edges of your pool. Plastic shovels are less likely to scratch your pool than metal shovels.
4. You can use an Ice Equalizer Pillow to Prevent Ice Damage. Please remember always put this down before the cover, as the pillow will help your pool cover to hold up thin layers of snow and ice. However, a pool pillow won't prevent ice from forming altogether'it just prevents the top of your pool from freezing completely, which may damage the structure of your pool over time.
5. Stay on the Lookout for a Rapidly Receding Water Level.
6. Address Any Pool Buckling Immediately.

Pool Pump: Can the pool pump be used for salt water or wastewater?

No, it can only be used for pumping clean water, rainwater, tap water, pool water, fresh water.
It's not suitable for acid and alkali pool, brine, septic tank, diesel pumping, which will rust the internal parts.

Pool Pump: What to do if there's a water leakage issue?

If there's a water leakage issue, it may because of three reasons.
1. The outer shell is broken.
2. O-shape rubber ring is aged.
3. The clap which secures the inlet compartment, and the outlet compartment is loose.
Please kindly check the outer shell, o-shape and clap to confirm the issue first.
After finding out the cause of the issue, you can fix it accordingly.
A. If the outer shell is broken, you need to replace a new outer shell. Please contact our customer service for the part.
B. If the o-shape rubber ring is aged, please change the o-shape rubber ring and apply Teflon tape on the connecting parts.
C. If the clap which secures the inlet compartment, and the outlet compartment is loose, please re-install it and ensure that the clap is well installed.

Pool Pump: What if the pool pump is not moving enough water?

A common reason for this issue is that the pool pump impeller is clogged or broken. Blades of grass, tree berries, dog hair, plastic pieces or other foreign debris are often found trapped in the impeller vanes. Remember to clean the pool pump timely.
Another common reason is an obstructed or collapsed suction line. Collapsed lines need to be re-plumbed and are usually associated with poly piping or flex line.
You may need to pressurize to dislodge the obstruction

Hose Connection to Innet & Outlet
Connect the inlet hose (not included) to the water inlet and the outlet hose (not included) to the water outlet. Ensure that the machine along with water inlet and outlet are filled with water to discharge all the air before use.
Notice:Please note that the internal diameter of both water inlet and outlet is 1 13/16'' (45.3 mm) and the external diameter of them is 2 9/16'' (65.6 mm). Choose appropriate hoses according to the size of water outlet and water inlet.

Pool Pump: Daily Maintenance of Yescom Pool Pump

1. The product has overheated protection mechanism. When the machine is overheated, it will stop working. Please wait until it is thoroughly cool down before restart.
2. When not in use, ensure the pump is dry and the plug and motor is free of water.
3. Never leave the product in exposure of strong sun light as it will cause high temperature in the product hence shorten the service life of the product.
4. The product is not for use in the following scenarios: irrigation and drawing water from fist pond as the water flow is too fast and it might cause injuries to the surrounding biology.
