How to Deep-Fry a Turkey 

Deep frying a turkey is a great way to enjoy the holidays regardless of whether it's Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Use your deep fryer to get your turkey crispy and delicious! Follow these instructions carefully, as temperatures can get high. 

Step 1. Thaw your turkey completely 

Step 2. Remove and discard the turkey’s neck and giblets then pat dry

Step 3. Preheat the oil in the fryer to 375° F

Step 4. Season your turkey, inject flavors, tuck legs 

Step 5. Set the timer and cook the turkey for about 3-4 minutes per pound 

Step 6. Cook all dark meat to an internal temperature of 175° F to 180° F, and all-white meat to an internal temperature of 165° F to 170° F

Step 7. After the turkey is cooked lift it from the pot and place it in a pan to drain 

Step 8. Let sit for 20 minutes before serving

How to Deep Fry Oreos

Ingredients:

1. A package of Oreo cookies 
2. 2 cups of Bisquick 
3. 2 eggs 
4. 1 ½ cups milk 
5. 3 teaspoons of oil
6. Vegetable oil 

Directions:

Step 1. Mix Bisquick, eggs, milk, and 3 tsp of oil until smooth 

Step 2. Preheat your oil to 375°F 

Step 3. Dip cookies in the mixture until completely covered then place in hot oil 

Step 4. Cook until golden brown 

Step 5. Remove cookies and place on paper towel to drain 

Step 6. Eat cookies when warm

How Often Should a Deep Fryer be Cleaned 

It is mandatory to clean your deep fryer for a minimum of three to six months to minimize damage to the machine and the oil. When you clean your deep fryer be sure to drain your oil, then fill with warm soapy water. Heat water inside of the fryer and clean with a soft brush until completely clean. 

When to Change Deep Fryer Oil 

Change your oil after every eight to ten uses. Remove the oil from your deep fryer after each use and store it for your next time. Simply strain the oil to remove food particles from the liquid and pour into a bottle. Store your bottle in a cool and dark place and do not use oil that is over two months old so the taste isn’t stale.
